The election is over and despite the bulk of the attention being paid to elected officials, many states continued the growing trend of passing ballot measures to increase minimum wage. Four states – Arizona, Colorado, Maine, and Washington approved measures that will raise minimum wage by 2020.
In Arizona, Colorado, and Maine, the new minimum wage will be $12 an hour by 2020 while Washington’s minimum wage will rise to $13.50 by 2020.
Many other cities and states across the nation have already approved minimum wage increases in recent years with the measured escalation of minimum wages to higher floors already underway.
